Wells Fargo & Co. is a banking company providing financial and insurance services in the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico. It is the 4th largest bank in the USA after the Bank of America, Citigroup and JP Morgan Chase.

The company is based in San Francisco. The major shareholder is Warren Buffet (6.5% of shares). The acquisition of Wachovia at the end of 2008 allowed Wells Fargo to become the largest mortgage lender in the USA in 2009. The bank currently has 6062 offices that serve 23 million clients.
