CAC 40

The CAC 40 is one of the major Stock indexesin France. It includes the stocks of the 40 largest companies by capitalization listed on the Euronext Paris exchange.
It has been published since December 31, 1987 from the base value of 1000 pips.

Being the national French stock index, CAC 40, depends on the general growth of the French economy and the potential of the local companies. Historically its growth potential has been lower than the German DAX or British FTSE 100, which reflect the states of stronger European economies.
