Dow Jones stands out as Nasdaq 100 slips

Yesterday evening it was another mixed close for the major US stock markets and one where only the Dow Jones ended the day higher. That divergence was noted here on the opening and it remained that way until the end of the session. The Dow Jones closed 172 points higher, at 39,056. That was its first daily close above 39k since April 3. The gains in the likes of Amgen and Boeing outflanked the losses in Intel.
