DAX rises above 18,400 as FTSE 100 also highlights European gains today

It is not long now until the European stock markets will draw to a close. Of course it has been another red letter day for the FTSE 100, with fresh records reached this afternoon, at 8,335.68. However, it is really the DAX that has led the way and just now risen above 18,400. That means the index is another step closer to the record high it set on April 2, when it reached 18,567. The index has now surpassed all the corrective rebound levels that might stand in between that record high and where it is right now heading into the close. The last of those was in place at 18,345 and of course that has been left in the wake now. The DAX is right now trading around 18,415
