Yesterday afternoon gold took a hit and that saw it fall to a session low at $4,019.30. That low seemed rather at odds with pretty much all that surrounded the metal. Well, it did recover and rise back above $4,050 into the US close, ending that session at $4,054.33.
The range seen so far today has been covered by $4,040.63 and $4,069.36, with the high been seen more recently than the low. The fact that it is down here at all is rather perplexing and in truth we have no easy answer to explain that, but at the same time, we continue to keep a close eye on the oil markets, because that is the one dynamic we know can impact gold more than almost anything else at the moment, in an inverse way of course. Gold is right now at $4,059.70
