Yesterday afternoon we repeated a warning made earlier in the day regarding the prospect of a further fall in the USD/JPY. Well, the dollar posted a synthetic US close last night at 154.36. Earlier this morning the USD/JPY fell as low as 152.89. That further downside move took the major Yen crosses lower with it and the GBP/JPY took out the 208 handle and came close to trading below 207. It was the same for the EUR/JPY, as that extended the fall from yesterday to below 178 at the same time.
The dollar has bounced off the lows right now, but it remains to be seen how much further the current rebound has to go, if indeed it does have more upside ahead of the European opening. The USD/JPY is right now at 153.55
