Gold steps back from above $4,400 again

Had there been an official Gold close last night then it would have been set at $4,404.30. Earlier in the day the metal had tried to push higher, but those attempts lacked traction ahead of a European close that was held in check by the fact that the US markets were not open. Well, anyway Gold did rise again earlier today and that came as the Yen gained, so there was some correlation there it seems.

Gold reached $4,442.96, but that was before the oil markets seemed to stamp on it once more and that has since seen the Gold/Oil correlation kick in again and force the metal back below the $4,400 marker. The fall in stocks this morning has not helped matters either. The low seen so far has been set at $4,389.04. Gold is currently trading at $4,391.85
