Nasdaq 100 opens in the red

The US stock markets have just kicked off the new week and it has been a lower start for the Nasdaq 100. The Nasdaq 100 futures had been camped in the red all day ahead of the opening and clearly underperforming Dow Jones and S+P 500 futures. This was in part due to the slide in the price of SK Hynix overnight that we reported earlier this morning.

The index closed in the US on Friday, at 29,825. It had been priced to reopen as low as 29,335 earlier today. The index has just this minute officially reopened at 29,471. The low so far has been set at 29,452.  As things stand it looks like it will a pretty volatile session which lies ahead today. The Nasdaq 100 is currently trading at 29,515
