FTSE 100 futures struggling so far this morning

All week so far we have highlighted our lack of love for the FTSE 100 and explained why that is the case and yesterday the index endorsed that opinion once more by falling back as low as 10,651.71. As we noted earlier, the FTSE 100 was nevertheless the best of a bad bunch, when it came to the percentage loss on the day. The index closed 141.60 points lower, at 10,670.06.

The fall back in the oil price so far this morning might have helped the DAX and the CAC futures, but as you can see, it is not doing the FTSE 100 futures much good just now. The index is currently priced to effectively reopen shortly around 10,665 and as such not higher at all. Hence, whilst we conclude there is room for a rebound, we stand by all that we have said so far this week
