The FTSE 100 was the best performing major European index at the back end of last week, after it held the slight break below 10,700, which as it turns out was a false break. The index had closed on Friday at 10,816.56. It has built on that gain so far today and that has now delivered a bit more upside towards 10,850.
At the same time the DAX has recovered an earlier lower opening at 26,091, following a close on Friday, at 26,136. The index traded as low as 26,038 earlier this morning, but it has since traded back above 26,150. The high seen was set at 26,155, but it is just edging back from that high right now and that comes as oil prices rise again following a series of attempts to push lower in recent trading. The DAX is currently trading at 26,125
