Earlier this morning the DAX did open slightly lower, at 26,039 and tried to push higher, reaching 26,069. However, that was some while back and since then the index has fallen back towards 25,925. The low seen so far has been set at 25,929.
Perhaps the one obvious reason for the fall would rest with the rebound in oil prices and certainly if we look at the respective highs and lows in both markets we can see they are inverse to each other so far today. The other factor to consider here is the price action across the US equity futures. All three major index futures are now well into the red and that downside is being led by the Dow Jones in percentage terms and that has not helped the DAX either. The DAX is currently trading at 25,930
