Alphabet beats the street on the top and bottom line- Nasdaq 100 futures wait on TSLA

The important Q2 earnings report from Alphabet (GOOGL) has now hit the street. We noted earlier today how the markets were expecting Q2 revenue of $117 billion, with an EPS of $2.88.

Well, Alphabet have just delivered Q2 earnings of $119.8 billion and an EPS of $9.11, which is a massive beat. GOOGL is higher in after-hours trading by more than 1%

Ahead of this important earnings report the Nasdaq 100 had been tracking lower into the close. The index had reopened today at 28,949 and traded as high as 29,176. The index was falling back below 29k heading into the close and these important earnings from Alphabet. The Nasdaq 100 just closed at 28,998

The reaction across the Nasdaq 100 futures to these results from Alphabet has seen the price initially rise, but given the beat from GOOGL not by that much yet, probably as they wait for the same from Tesla any minute now
