UK finance minister gets the sack
The Spectator reports that UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has sacked Kwasi Kwarteng from his post as Chancellor of the Exchequer. "It is a truly remarkable development... his dismissal is a sign of how bad things really are. Less than six weeks into her premiership and she has sacrificed her closest ideological ally to try and shore up her position," the publication writes. The pound reacted with a decline that will likely continue.
