US Treasury secretary Bessent says he does not have Gold in mind for US sovereign wealth Fund

The US treasury secretary, Scott Bessent has been talking over the wires in the past few minutes and he has touched upon a number of topics. One of those has been the creation of a US Sovereign wealth fund. When asked about the inclusion of Gold into that wealth fund he said he has no plans at present to include the metal. That is not to say such plans might not evolve, but for the time being they do not appear to be on the table. Gold has slipped slightly following this news and it remains to be seen, if there will be a deeper impact from this news. Earlier this morning Gold reached new record high, at $2,954.84. It is just now trading at $2,948.20
