US JOLTS rise much more than expected- USD/JPY sets fresh session highs

The US September JOLTS- Job opening numbers have now crossed the wires. The markets were expecting the number of vacancies to have risen to around 7.165 million from a prior reading in August, of 7.079 million.

The actual number is 7.523 million and that is a great number.

Ahead of this report the dollar had been up and down inside all the ranges we have covered for the most part earlier across the major pairs. So, no fresh ground had been broken relative to the ranges seen over the past week, or so. The usually most reactive to this JOLTS data- the USD/JPY was trading around 158.27 leading into the data.

The immediate, if only passing reaction, has seen it rise to session highs above 158.30, trading right now at 158.38

From now on today it is up to the US voter to decide what might, or might not come next.
