Earlier this morning the price of Brent crude fell back very close to the $105 per barrel handle and that came as the European stock markets reopened. So, the DAX, which had closed yesterday at 25,361, kicked off the new session officially at 25,478. However, despite rising immediately, it could not make much further progress and has so far peaked at 25,484. It is now tracking lower and no surprises to see that Brent has just lifted back above the $106 handle as we write.
At the same time the FTSE has managed to edge a little higher and for entirely the same reason, because oil has bounced off the lows. So, there you have it; swings and roundabouts and a lot of jostling in between. The DAX is right now at 25,425
