Gold lifts ahead of the European opening
Gold has just now hit a session high at $4,061.85. That is some way above the high seen yesterday, at $4,040.52. Gold had fallen back into the US close last night, ending that session at $4,008.03.
The push higher this morning is at odds with the Oil price and clearly that dynamic is decoupling more than of late. The main driver seems to rest with stocks and the US futures on the rebound this morning and it seems possible that fresh Gold buyers emerged on the break above $4,040 a little earlier.
Gold has also busted above a downward sloping trend line that was in place around $4,025 and that has helped the elevation since. Gold is right now at $4,060.90
