As expected the Nasdaq 100 opens in the red

The US stock markets have just reopened and no prizes for noting it has been a lower start to the day for the Nasdaq 100, which had closed last night at 30,571. It has just officially kicked off the new session at 30,174, but at one point earlier this morning it looked like it would be lower than that, when the futures were pricing it as low as 30,105.

So, once again we have a diverging and contrasting start to the US equity markets today and one where the Dow Jones is higher. That might flip around again, but we shall have to see how this plays out. Trading is pretty rapid as usual at the start of the session. The Nasdaq 100 has just traded as low as 30,153, but it is on the rebound now, currently trading at 30,235
