Last week we covered the new all time high in the Dow Jones, when it set a new record, at 53,289. Subsequent to that we also covered the technically negative reversal it suffered the very next day and how that led to a reversal as low as 52,069. Well, on Friday the index managed to extend a rebound that had been unfolding since Wednesday and that saw the index climb back as high as 52,709, ahead of a weekly close, at 52,637.
The risk aversion that has impacted the Asian markets this morning has rather dented the opening outlook for the Dow later today, but not entirely derailed it. The Dow Jones has been priced to reopen as low as 52,380. As to whether the prior relapse low, at 52,069 comes into view later today remains to be seen, but if if does then we have the prospect of more downside in the pipeline. The Dow Jones is currently priced to reopen later today, around 52,395
