Dollar index (USDX) stalls above 101 again

Yesterday the dollar continued to push higher and the dollar index managed to force a break above 100.86. That led it as high as 101.02 by the time of the 4pm London fix. The index did drift a little lower into the US close,  later ending the day at 100.99.

The price action so far today has seen it balk at the 101 handle again, topping out at exactly that level and turning a little lower. That said, it has not broken any fresh ground in either direction so far this week and lacks momentum one-way, or the other. We have an open mind on where this might head to next, with attention focused on the war in the Middle East this week, because the US data release calendar is light over the coming days.

The dollar index is right now at 100.91
