The platform now supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agentic AI natively. You can ask it to analyse a symbol, review your open positions, or help you build an Expert Advisor.
How MCP Works
MCP is an open standard that lets applications talk to AI agents. MT5 publishes what it can do as a set of tools, and the agent calls the ones it needs to complete your request.
MCP works in both directions. On your side, you can connect an external MCP client such as Claude Code or Codex, and it talks to MT5 directly. Inside the platform, the built-in AI Assistant panel gives you the same access in chat form. No plugins or bridges are needed, because MT5 speaks the protocol itself.
Where the assistant lives
- In the platform: The assistant explains current market conditions for an asset, reviews your open positions and trading history, and answers questions about instruments and recent market events.
- In MetaEditor: It generates trading bots, analyses existing code, highlights errors and suggests fixes, explains algorithms, and assists with refactoring.
Try these example prompts:
- 'Analyse the current EUR/USD situation on the H1 timeframe. Identify the trend and the nearest support and resistance levels.'
- 'Create an Expert Advisor that opens a position when the EMA 20 crosses the EMA 50, with a 500-point Stop Loss and a 1000-point Take Profit.'
Setup requires just one sign-in
Sign in to the platform with your MQL5.community account and you automatically get the free MQL5 Lite plan. The platform selects MQL5.community as the default AI provider and adds the required API key for you. If you prefer, you can use your own keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama, or another supported provider, and pick your model in the terminal settings.

Security settings let you allow AI-initiated trading operations, block them, or require manual confirmation.
The AI features are already in your platform after the update.
The AI Assistant is a third-party tool provided by MetaQuotes and external AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek). It is not provided or verified by Forex Club International LLC. AI-generated analyses, signals, and Expert Advisor codes may be inaccurate, outdated, or erroneous, and do not constitute investment advice. You are solely responsible for testing, configuring, and supervising all manual and automated trades executed via AI. Connecting third-party API keys subjects your data to the selected provider's privacy policy and terms. Forex and CFD trading carry a high risk of capital loss.
