NASDAQ 100

The index Nasdaq 100 is the index of the 100 largest by capitalization high-technology companies listed on NASDAQ exchange. It doesn’t include companies of the financial sector for which NASDAQ Financial-100 exists. Among the companies included in the index one can mention such technological giants as Apple and Microsoft.
It is being published since 1985, in 1998 foreign companies were included in the index.

Nasdaq 100 Index reflects the dynamics of a single, high-technology US sector. During the periods of IT-industry heavy growth it can outpace more complex indices, but in the periods of investors’ preferences changing it may lag behind them.
