Philippines stocks lower at close of trade; PSEi Composite down 1.30%

Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Property, Banking&Financials and Holding Firms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 1.30%.

The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 1.50% or 4.00 points to trade at 270.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) added 1.21% or 22.00 points to end at 1835.00 and Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) was up 0.91% or 0.080 points to 8.880 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC), which fell 5.88% or 8.00 points to trade at 128.00 at the close. Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) declined 3.20% or 1.350 points to end at 40.850 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) was down 2.91% or 0.540 points to 18.000.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 128 to 63 and 51 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.34% or 4.20 to $1217.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.51% or 0.36 to hit $69.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.25 to trade at $75.30 a barrel.

CNY/PHP was down 0.32% to 7.7746, while USD/PHP rose 0.13% to 53.127.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 94.11.
