Italy stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.16%

Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Italy 40 fell 0.16%.

The best performers of the session on the Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 2.51% or 0.1050 points to trade at 4.2910 at the close. Meanwhile, Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) added 1.26% or 0.17 points to end at 14.04 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 0.93% or 0.30 points to 32.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which fell 8.77% or 0.220 points to trade at 2.284 at the close. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) declined 2.13% or 0.188 points to end at 8.638 and Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) was down 1.92% or 0.120 points to 6.130.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 159 to 120 and 17 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.66% or 0.45 to $68.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.44% or 0.32 to hit $73.53 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1220.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1560, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8919.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.13.
