You were warned- US stocks take a hammering as Nasdaq 100 falls by nearly 4%

A series of updates here yesterday ahead of the US opening warned the reader about the prospect of further, deeper falls across the stock markets. The most prevalent of those was a warning on the Nasdaq 100. Well, it got absolutely smashed and fell nearly a 1000 points on the session at one stage. The index had closed on Friday at 20,201. It hit a low point yesterday at 19,243. It did make back some ground into the close though, ending the session at 19,430, with a loss of 770 points on the day. However, the Nasdaq 100 futures have rebounded somewhat this morning, but not before they were pricing a lower opening later last night. That was not much above 19,100, but since then the Asian markets have pared losses and that has afforded the Nasdaq 100 futures some slack ahead of the European opening. The index is currently priced to reopen around 19,445. There will be plenty more to add on this as the day unfolds
