The writing was on the wall as the FTSE 100 trades below 8,100

The European stock markets are still falling just now this morning and that has seen the DAX drop below 19,300 and below 19,250 just now. At the same time the CAC 40 has dropped below 7,400 again and below 7,375. The FTSE 100 has now traded below 8,100 and endorsed all that has been said about the outlook for the index over the past 24 hours here. The move lower across the European markets has not yet really dented the US opening outlook though and of course the contrast between the two is just as stark as it was when mentioned here earlier. The FTSE100 is currently trading at 8,093
