Yesterday the Dow Jones crumbled in early trading. That saw the index slide from an official opening level, at 42,863 to a low at 42,263. The rebound that followed saw the index rise to 42,770 before succumbing to further selling pressure in the final hour of trading. So, the Dow later closed, 418 points lower, at 42,573. The Asian markets are mostly in the red today with Chinese stocks falling the most. Japanese markets are closed today by the way. Hence, so far this morning there has been no rebound, of any note for the Dow Jones futures. As to what unfolds later today is uncertain too and ruling out another slide into the annual close might be unwise. The markets have not enjoyed a great run into the end of the year and the more immediate rush back to US treasuries since this time yesterday has not helped. So, it looks like more of the same will decide, whether or not the Dow Jones can rebound into the final close of 2024, or not. Right now the Dow Jones futures are not giving much of an impression that is likely later on. The index is currently priced to reopen around 42,560
