What is the EUR/USD waiting for you might ask?

Well there are several not so complimentary analogies one could offer here to explain the price action in the EUR/USD so far this week, but perhaps all best left to a conversation in the pub. What is clear though; is the EUR/USD is watching and waiting for events to unfold this week. So, today we have the Fed boss, Jerome Powell talking at 2pm GMT. This is day one of his semi-annual testimony in front of the Senate Banking committee. Now quite often (but not always) this can throw up some insight and moves and so it is important. Perhaps not so important as the latest US CPI report on Thursday (12.30pm GMT), which could be a game-changer for the US dollar, one way, or the other- more on that prospect over the next couple of days. Meantime, the EUR/USD is in stasis to some degree. It closed last night at 1.0824 after stalling yesterday ahead of 1.0850 again. The range seen so far today has been covered by 1.0819 to 1.0833. It is currently trading at 1.0826. It would be a surprise if it was still here by the end of the week
