What chance the Dow Jones trades below 40k today?

The Dow Jones has fallen further since the opening and an update here. The index has now dropped to a low at 40,344. It is off that low now, but very much still in the red today. The index has now dropped more than 1000 points since setting an all time record high just yesterday, at 41,376. from a technical perspective this correction could easily extend and we have to remember just how far above even its 21 day moving average the index had risen to this week. That 21 day moving average is in place right now at 39,662, but it will shift around a lot owing to the price action and speed of movement likely ahead of the weekend. The question now, given that even 500 points is not that huge in percentage terms at the current levels; is will we see a further relapse to below 40k ahead of the weekend?
