USD/JPY on the rebound so far today

The USD/JPY has been the main mover amongst the major currency pairs so far today. The USD/JPY had fallen back to a low at 152.15 on Friday afternoon, but later rebounded to post a weekly close at 152.64. It has built on that rebound so far today, reclaiming levels above 153 and then 153.50. The high seen earlier was set at 153.67. That high came as news emerging from Japan suggested the BOJ is still in no hurry to hike interest rates again. Naturally the firmer dollar following the Trump win has played a part in that too. The USD/JPY is off the highs right ow though, but overall the immediate trend remains positive. Of course, if the dollar starts to push towards 154 once more, we might get more rhetoric from Japanese officials, like we did last week. The USD/JPY is currently trading at 153.36
