USD/JPY presses towards 2023 highs again as BOJ governor speaks

The Bank of Japan governor, Kazuo Ueda is right now delivering his post BOJ decision press conference and as he does so the Yen is weakening again. Ueda is once more towing the line and that means no change from the BOJ for the time being in terms of its inflation outlook and policy response. Granted, Ueda it banging the weaker Yen drum again, but in truth not many in the markets believe him. Hence, the USD/JPY has just lifted to fresh session highs a moment ago. It is also very close to busting above the current 2023 high at 148.46, set just yesterday. The USD/JPY is currently trading at 148.36
