Yesterday the USD/JPY rejected a move above the high seen on Friday at 144.49. The high seen yesterday was set at 144.45 and perhaps that failure was the catalyst for the fall that followed. The dollar dropped back to a low at 143.17, in a move that was covered here at the time. However, that fall then gave way to another sharp rise back above 144.25, only to stall again into the US close. The dollar fell back to 143.25, before rebounding modestly into the US close, at 143.61. Today the dollar has pushed above that 144 handle again, but this time can it sustain the move? That remains to be seen, but all the while it holds below 144.50 there will be doubts on that. The high seen this morning has been set a moment ago at 144.20. The USD/JPY is currently trading at 144.16
