USD/JPY knocked back below 147.50 on Japanese press report

The USD/JPY did briefly top the 148 handle a short while ago, reaching 148.04, but as suspected there were still plenty of dollar sellers up there. It was already edging off that high when a JiJI (Japanese News report) report stated; that the BOJ is to end its zero rate policy next week. The impact of this, as it came across the wires sent the USD/JPY immediately lower. The USD/JPY tumbled to a new session low at 147.44. It is rebounding again now, but this press release has understandably dented the upside and perhaps for the rest of the day too. We shall see on that. The USD/JPY is right now trading at 147.69
