USD/CAD extends gains above 1.40

The USD/CAD pushed higher yesterday afternoon, even as the GBP/USD and EUR/USD rebounded. At that time there was quite a stark contrast between the USD/CAD and those other pairs. We can easily account for that though and it was down to gains in the EUR/CAD and the GBP/CAD which ensured the USD/CAD bucked that wider US dollar reversal. The USD/CAD later posted its highest daily close in 4 years, when it ended the US session at 1.4060. The high seen so far today has been set at 1.4072, but it is off that high just now. The low point seen do far today has been set at 1.4052. So, is it onwards and upwards for the USD/CAD again today? Well, it sure looks that way right now. The USD/CAD is currently trading at 1.4055
