US stocks turn lower as US data awaits - Dow Jones leads the way

Any minute now the latest US university of Michigan consumer sentiment index will be released but this is the final reading so it might not have much have much of an impact. We shall see on that shortly. Meantime, the US stock markets did open slightly lower, but in the first 30 minutes of live trading the three major indexes have now all dropped into the red and it is the Dow Jones that is actually leading those losses. The index ha trading back below the 40k handle, after opening today at 40,045 and rising initially to a high at 40,093. The Dow is right now at 39,875
