US stocks turn lower again as European markets balk- CAC 40 drops below 7,400 once more

As the European stock markets come to the end of the first hour of live trading the gains in the Nasdaq 100 and S+P 500 have given way to even deeper losses now in the Dow Jones. That index has fallen back towards 40,550 since the last update here. Meantime, stock here in Europe have fallen further too and the DAX is still leading those losses, as drops below 18,250. The FTSE 100 has now hit a session low underneath 8,200 and the CAC 40 has done a volte face and dropped below the 7,400 level once more. Earlier today this index was trading just above 7,475. It is just now trading at 7,390 and the losses in stocks have helped to push both the Yen and the dollar higher this afternoon
