US stocks turn even lower after the European close-check out the S+P 500 right now

The US stock markets were already falling back well ahead of the European close and that reversal dented the European close too. The Nasdaq 100 has led the way lower now, after it did duly reject any kind of sustained move beyond 19,924. The index has now fallen to levels below 19,600 a short while ago. At the same time, the S+P 500 has also rejected a move to test the current 2024 high it reached earlier this summer, at 5,669. The high seen earlier this afternoon was set at 5,643 and now the index has fallen back underneath 5,600. The low seen a moment ago was set at around 5,582. Trading is pretty fluid at the moment too and it seems the combination of some decent data and a batch of Fed comments, dampening down rate cut expectations, have served to push all these markets lower this afternoon. The S+P 500 is currently trading at 5,588
