US stocks reverse earlier downside moves as Dow Jones lifts to new 2023 highs

The European stock markets have long since closed now and it was not a positive end to the session here for the FTSE 100 and the DAX, despite promising such earlier in the day. That was especially the case for the FTSE100. In the event both indexes only closed with marginal, single digit losses. Meantime, over in the US the major index have now reversed some earlier downside and the Dow Jones is leading the gains now and rising to session highs a moment ago as it lifts to a new 2023 high, at 36,567. The index reopened today at 36,442 and then slipped to a low at 36,373. It is currently trading at 36,552
