US stocks pause for breath but futures higher this morning -check the S+P 500 now

Yesterday the US stock markets all closed slightly in the red. The losses were light though and in percentage terms led by the Nasdaq 100, handing back 0.24%. The S+P 500 closed 0.20% lower and the Dow Jones 0.15%. The S+P 500 opened at 5,602.88 and peaked in early trading at 5,620.51, before falling back after the European close to a low at 5,585.50. It subsequently closed 11 points lower, at 5,597.12. Overnight the early losses in the Asian markets have been partially reversed and that has helped the S+P futures press higher and right now the index is priced to reopen later today at around 5,606 ahead of the Fed meeting minutes this evening
