US stocks open higher today- check out the Dow Jones
The US stock markets have not long reopened for live trading and it was a higher start to the new session. The Dow Jones which closed yesterday at 40,834, reopened above 40,900 and lifted immediately to just around 40,950, but it has backed-off that high just now. However, the opening enthusiasm was not exactly matched by the Nasdaq 100 or the S+P 500. The price action in the Dow is pretty fast paced in early trading amid what is still a light news flow today and the higher earnings released earlier are largely responsible for the Dow Jones outperforming in early trade. That said the Dow is just now edging back underneath 40,885
