US stocks open higher today- check out the Dow Jones in early trading

The US stock markets have just reopened for the first live trading session of the week. It has been a higher start for all three major indexes. The opening gains in percentage terms seem pretty evenly matched, but of course in pure points terms it is the Dow Jones that has led the opening gains. The index closed on Friday at 44,403, with a loss of 444 points on the day. It has just officially reopened at 44,396, but that was just a book entry and not a price to trade at. The effective opening has been around 44,550. The index is immediately pressing higher, currently trading at 44,605
