US stocks open higher- check out the Nasdaq 100 this afternoon
The US stock markets have just now reopened for live trade amid a stronger dollar and reduced overall risk dynamic. So, all three major US indexes have opened higher, but the gains have seemingly been slightly curtailed in very early trading. The 5,000 level on the S+P 500 looks like it remains something of an immediate hurdle yet to be vaulted and the Nasdaq 100 is already edging off its opening highs too. Trading looks a little uncertain directionally for that reason, but it is still early days in that respect and with the VIX still elevated from Friday, further upside is not guaranteed at this stage. The Nasdaq 100 is currently trading at 17,145, after reopening 124 points higher today at ,17,161
