US stocks limp to a slightly higher close but Nasdaq 100 futures lower this morning

The three major US stock market indexes all managed to close slightly higher last night. The very modest gains were led in percentage terms by the Nasdaq 100, which closed with an anaemic 0.15% gain. The S+P closed just 0.1% higher and the Dow Jones managed just 0.09%. Overnight and despite the gains in the Nikkei 225, all three index futures are in the red this morning. The overhang of what might come next in the Middle East is clearly weighing on US and European futures this morning. The Nasdaq 100 closed at 19,802 last night which was actually well above the lows seen earlier in the day, at 19,630. The index is currently priced to reopen later at around 19,740
