US stocks extend losses in first hour of trading- Nasdaq 100 takes the lead this time

Following on from the previous update, noting the lower opening for the US stock markets this afternoon, the losses have now deepened and this time it is not the Dow Jones that is leading the way in percentage terms. That index has now fallen below 44,200 and close to 44,150, but it is the Nasdaq 100 that has overtaken the moves and now lower by more than 1%, as it falls below 21,900 a short while ago. Trading is brisk across all these markets and likely to remain that way too. The S+P 500 is now below 6,100 and the Yen has lurched higher again, as clearly a degree of risk aversion impacts the risk dynamic. The Nasdaq 100 is just attempting to rebound right now, but it is far from certain it will hold onto that before another relapse might kick in. The index is right now at 21,960
