US stocks do open higher but where next? -check out the S+P 500 now

Further to all the most recent updates here, the US stock markets have just reopened and it has been a higher opening, but not where the markets were pricing it at one stage just after the US CPI release. I think we should expect a pretty volatile session today, given the price action seen in the Dow Jones and Nasdaq 100 futures over the past hour. The S+P 500 closed last night at 5,117 and the futures price was indicating an opening at one stage above 5,155. It has just now reopened around 5,140. As far as all the US stock indexes are concerned today it is likely to be the most stable right now and in that respect might offer a safer route, if you want to bypass the price swings in the Dow Jones and the Nasdaq 100.
