US stock markets slip on reopening-check out the Dow Jones

Despite a gain to almost 35,100 earlier today in the Dow Jones futures, the index has just now reopened and it has failed to officially commence live trading above 35k. That seemed unlikely even a short while ago, but a combination of factors have served to dent the outlook. The official reopening for the index has been set at 34,964, but in reality it was actually above 35k on the opening. However, it has fallen a little now, from an initial high at 35,028. Meantime, the Nasdaq 100 did open lower, and commenced live trading at 15,805, from a close yesterday at 15,833. The reasons for the Nasdaq 100 underperformance were outlined here earlier. The Dow Jones is now falling back below 34,950
