Yesterday the US stock markets all closed lower on the day. Earlier in the session it had been a different story, but a failure to hold the earlier session gains across all three major indexes delivered technically negative closes for the Nasdaq 100 and the S+P 500. There will be more to add on those later. The focus here is the Dow Jones. The index formed a very minor head and shoulders on the intraday chart after it had failed to climb above the record it had set the day before, at 45,073. The high seen yesterday was 45,059. The index later fell back to 44,747 and did not close much above that low, ending the US session at 44,765. The Dow Jones futures are currently indicating a largely unchanged opening right now too. So, it could be the US monthly jobs report that decides if this relapse is extended, or another record looms ahead of the weekend.
