US stock indexes all close in the red this time- Dow Jones suffers again

Yesterday all three major US stock market indexes closed in the red and that means it was a ninth successive lower close for the Dow Jones. Looking at the daily charts going back 5 years, that looks like its worst run over the entire period. The index fell back to a low at 43,336, but recovered some that fall, to close 267 points lower, at 43,449. That close was also just below its 50 day moving average, which was in place right then, at 43,453. However, the Dow Jones futures are higher this morning, as Chinese shares rise by around 1% across the board. It seems likely the Fed policy decision statement and accompanying dot plot outlook this evening could decide if the index will snap this losing streak. There will be more to add on that as the day unfolds. Meantime, the Dow Jones is currently priced to open around 43,510
