US services ISM index better but JOLTS worse-USD/JPY drops back

The November ISM service sector index has just been released. This was expected to rise slightly, from 51.8 to 52. It has actually risen to 52.7, but the prices paid fell slightly. New orders were unchanged and employment was better, at 50.7. However, the dollar has fallen on this news, but it was not the ISM that seems to have sparked the drop in the US currency. This is all due to the lower JOLTS number, at just 8.7 million. It is that which has dented the dollar and sent the GBP/USD and EUR/USD higher, There will be more to add on the pound in a minute. The lower dollar and lower JOLTS data has also helped the US stock markets to lift off their lows. The USD/JPY has balked at this data too, falling back towards 146.50 again. The USD/JPY was trading above 147.10 before it was released
