US jobless claims rise more than expected- USD/JPY falls

The dollar was on the rebound versus the Yen leading into the latest US jobless claims data. Well, that has just been released and it was not very good. Weekly claims rose to 241k, which was well above forecasts and continuing claims lifted above 1.9 million. The markets were expecting a number of 1.865 million and it was 1.916 million. The reaction in the dollar has seen it fall back immediately. This was something that was warned about here earlier today and it does not bode especially well for the monthly jobs report tomorrow. The USD/JPY was around 144.65 leading into this data. It has since fallen back to 144.15. It is right now at 144.30
